Verna A. Hickenlooper, 96, died Nov. 16, 2017 in Wichita, Ks. She was born June 15, 1921 in Harper, Ks. to Archie and Elsie (Manninger) Cox. Verna and her twin sister, Vera, founded Wichita State University Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Program. She was a WWII veteran 1st Lieutenant in England where she married Paul Hickenlooper.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Garnett Cox; sister, Faeola Grable and twin sister, Vera McCann. She is survived by her son, Robin Hickenlooper; two daughters, Arlene Evans-DeBeverly and Verna Forristal; two grandchildren, Mia Marie Peace Forristal and charles Wayne Evans.
