Our Story

A soaring stateliness, Old Mission has become a familiar landmark in the greater Wichita area. The beautiful Old Mission Mausoleum designed with Bedford limestone and Vermont marble was built by banker, George A. Saxton in 1918.

Mission Chapel Mausoleum with it's beautiful Gothic stained glass windows was built across the street from Wichita State University in 1962.

To compliment the gardens and features of the cemetery grounds, Old Mission Mortuary and Crematory and Serenity Mausoleum were added in the 1970s to accommodate our families.

Everything about our entire facility is planned with the thought of providing convenience, comfort and a place of quiet dignity.

The Old Mission Mortuary Chapel of Memories, Crematory, Mausoleums and beautifully landscaped gardens are all conveniently located at North 21st and Hillside across the street from the renowned Wichita State University.

"Celebrating the Story of Every Life" is our way to personalize the type of ceremony you and your family want. A great many funerals are conducted at Old Mission with regards to each one as a very special and individual situation.

Personalizing every service is the way our staff can offer our families a variety of options of funeral plans, and appropriate services for every circumstance and financial consideration.

We also have our own crematory on site; operated by our own certified crematory operators. Glass front Niches are available in the Mausoleum to complete the personalized memorial.

You are invited to visit Old Mission and see its many lovely features, all planned in the tradition of service. One call will assure you all the help needed at the time of loss.
